What is a Patent bet?

Full-cover

Patent — Seven bets on three selections — a single winner already returns.

3 selections · 7 bets · any 1 win returns

A Patent is a Trixie plus singles: three singles, three doubles and one treble — seven bets on three selections. A £1 Patent costs £7. The advantage over a Trixie is that even one winner returns something (through its single).

You pay for that safety net with the extra three unit stakes, so a Patent needs bigger-priced winners to show a profit on one result. It’s the three-selection cousin of the Lucky 15.

A note on honesty: full-cover and accumulator bets are fun and can pay big, but the bookmaker’s margin stacks up with every added bet or leg — so we track and publish these for interest, not as proven profit. Our flagship pick is the Nap of the Day. 18+ · Please gamble responsibly.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between a Patent and a Trixie?

A Patent adds three singles to a Trixie (7 bets vs 4), so a single winner returns — a Trixie needs at least two.
